Jake’s 58 Casino Hotel

The first Casino Hotel in Long Island, NY

Case Study

Jake’s 58 Casino Hotel opened it’s doors in February, 2017. Two months later I was brought on-board as the sole creative reporting to the Sr. Director of Marketing to assist in brand awareness and promotional creative needs as well as advertising in-house and out-of-home.

The Challenge

The first casino hotel on Long Island, NY, situated in the middle of the island and easily accessible to local patrons as well as those farther west in NYC, farther east in the Hamptons, and farther north across the Long Island Sound in Connecticut. Brand awareness was the initial goal as competition with larger casinos in NYC and Connecticut drew patrons, as well as the development of exciting visuals in print, digital, social media and motion graphics to entice patrons to the establishment.

The Concept

Each promotion was designed visually around its own theme, conceptualized and developed, then individual assets created for all marketing channels culminating in a monthly mailed calendar and motion graphics displayed on in-house monitors and guest room tvs. These assets were all gathered and centered around templates for brand consistency. Brand awareness was initially handled by strategic regional and national media purchasing, sponsorship of major league sports teams, broadcast television commercials and radio spots.

The Conclusion

Jake’s 58 quickly became the most lucrative video lottery casino in NY State per video game machine, exceeding all initial estimations and consistent patron growth and retention. Local patrons now travel to this destination before spending the hours in traffic to visit the nearest casinos in NYC and CT, and the brand awareness has toned down to focus more on offers, promotions and guest experience.

Creative services included: Promotion brand design, print advertising, video art direction, motion graphics & animation, social media content, mailers & flyers, audio voice-over acting, copywriting.
