When Cross Pixel Media, a NYC Marketing and SEO Agency, wanted to launch their new revolutionary tool named “Data Desk”, they knew they had everything in place for a successful launch except for an updated, polished look their engineers couldn’t offer. With the positive feedback from their focus groups, they decided not to stray too far from the existing layout, but wanted what they already had more user friendly. Using what they had in place as a template, I freed up white space by grouping like objects, added JQuery pull-down menus and rollovers, and css-based graphic touches including rounded corners, drop shadows, symbols and sprites. In the end I reflowed the entire page, allowing the eye to move from section to section logically and reducing eye strain by the information overload. The final design was met with overwhelming positivity by the industry members who test ran the tool before final launch.
